Preface to Auckland
Auckland with its 1.3 million residents is the biggest city in New Zealand.
A visit here offers so much along the lines of colonial history and culture, numerous interesting free time possibilities, international flair and also a completely unique natural landscape.
There are still about 50 inactive volcanoes within an area of about 300 km around the city. The volcano field shapes the city in a unique way by putting up all types of sights to see in the surrounding area, for example Mount Eden.

Close to the city there are numerous pretty beaches to find. These are perfect for relaxing, sun bathing and surfing.
Enjoy the protected bay, go out in a sail boat and lay anchor, and see how Auckland got the name of City of Sails.
