...that the need to serve a Christmas goose came from Great Britain? On Christmas Eve in 1588 Queen Elisabeth I started the feast with serving a goose at the same time that she recieved word of the English victory against the Spanish Armada. Delighted with the news from the letter, she made goose the essential part of a Christmas feast.
