...that the Spaniards have a huge tomato fight once every year in the small mountain village of Buñol in the region of Valencia? There is plenty of speculation as to how it started. But the most probable is that a skirmish took place during a festival in 1945 in which two boys threw tomatos during a pageant until the police came and intervened. The tomato fight happens every year as an imitation up until today where an actual festival has been established.
