1 x Cowboy and back!
Experience the "true" down under at a cattle station and become a cowboy/cowgirl! Professional training in western riding and challenging activities such as cattle driving and sheep shearing await you! Besides working with horses you learn how to build sturdy fences and yard building from experienced cowboys! Gallop through the Gwidyr River and sleep out under the stars - yeehaw!
The farm is situated in Bingara, a country town on the banks of the Gwidyr River and surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The city is ca, 540km away from Sydney.
The 5-days Jackaroo course starts every Monday at 8:30 and ends on Friday at 15:00.

Bingara is an Aboriginal word believed to mean "a shallow river crossing".
The district has become a popular place for backpackers to enjoy the horse riding, bushwalking and fantastic fishing on the Gwidyr river. One of the highlights of the annual calender is the towns orange festival centered around the row of orange trees planted along either side of Finch Street near the Returned Servicemen's Club.
The highlight is the picking of the oranges, done on a designated day around the end of June each year.
Gwydir River Trail Rides offers visitors the opportunity to experience the bush at the ground level as they ride through the bush along the banks of the Gwydir River.
Bingara is also only a couple of hours drive from Tamworth, Australia's capital of country music!

What's provided:

Accommodation in a comfy homestead with home cooked meals (breakfast on Monday & dinner on Friday not included)

Riding helmets, horse and tack, limited no. of riding boots (depending on size), whips etc.
What to bring:
Towel, sun hat, swimming kit, sunblock, old clothes, phone card (phone in homestead is available), and of course a camera to capture all the great moments. Most things can be purchased in Bingara on Monday.
