Day 6: Halls Gap – Adelaide:
We will hike to Hollow Mountain and the MacKenzie waterfall from where we will have a breathtaking view of the northern parts of Grampians. After lunch in Horsham we will continue driving in the south Australian Adelaide.
Day 7: Adelaide:
Free day to explore the sights in Adelaide
Day 8: Adelaide – Parachilna:
After the visit of the city we will head towards Quorn through the pretty Clare Valley. In the afternoon we will see Aborigine rock art in the Yourambulla cave. Following that will be a BBQ dinner and an overnight stay in Parachilna.
Day 9: Flinders Ranger and Wilpena Pound:
With good weather we will take the charming route through the Parachilna Gorge to the Wilpena Pound. We will take a guided hike up Mount Ohlssen-Bagge where we will be rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view. The next stop is Rawnsley Park sheep farm.
Day 10: Rawnsley Park – Coober Pedy:
Underground mining! In Coober Pedy we will take a tour through the diverse opal mines. Our housing for tonight is naturally – underground!
Day 11: Coober Pedy – Uluru (Ayers Rock):
Our trip takes us through the raw desert landscape to Yulara, where we will experience an unforgettable sunset in Uluru. We will spend the night in a camping ground in Yulara.
Day 12: Uluru – Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon:
After a fascinating sunrise in Uluru it is time for a stroll around Ayers Rock. First we will make our way by Mala. Then we will visit the Kata Tjuta on our way to Kings Canyon where we will spend the night.
Day 13: Kings Canyon – Alice Springs:
There is plenty to discover in Kings Canyon: the Lost City, the Garden of Eden and the extensions of the North and South Walls. After eating we will hike to the end of our fascinating tour through the desert to Alice Springs. |
